Oasis Widens Technology Offering with Legal Research Platform, eDiscovery Assistant
eDiscovery case law, rules, tags, and more available in new application
LOS ANGELES, Ca., May 26, 2020, Oasis has continuously expanded its eDiscovery software offerings based on the latest and most effective software in legal technology. Now, reaching beyond standard eDiscovery technology, Oasis is expanding into resources that legal professionals use for research and education to further streamline clients’ eDiscovery processes.
eDiscovery Assistant, a legal research platform, is the only eDiscovery case law database and resource center for attorneys and legal professionals. The application team curates case law and rules, provides checklists and forms, and will soon provide a learning center that delivers on-demand, practical knowledge to give legal professionals the ability to get up to speed quickly and credibly. Oasis Discovery’s addition of eDiscovery Assistant expands its software offerings left of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model), providing clients with a comprehensive selection of legal technology.
eDA (eDiscovery Assistant) was founded and developed by Kelly Twigger, Principal at ESI Attorneys, a nationally known and recognized eDiscovery attorney, author, and speaker. “It’s a different way of approaching research in this area but our users are astounded by the results,” says Twigger. “We are about to see an explosion of COVID-related litigation, and cost-effective discovery of different types of data is going to be a huge issue. We want lawyers and the professionals supporting them to have the resources to get our country and our economy back on its feet.”
The application provides built-in functionality allowing legal professionals to decrease time spent reviewing, annotating, and identifying issues among thousands of legal decisions. eDA also includes discovery rules from all state and federal jurisdictions, as well as federal district courts.
Oasis is excited to partner with eDiscovery Assistant to provide clients with the time savings and organizational abilities offered by the software.
“eDA was the missing piece of our puzzle. Education in eDiscovery is vital to ensure that legal professionals understand the case law and eDiscovery rules currently being decided across our judicial system. We strive to provide our partners with the ability to stay at the forefront of technology and understand the changes made to the procedures that must be followed in court as it relates to data. Without this educational aspect in our Suite of Technology, our clients were missing the tools to be effective in this space. We are thrilled to be able to provide them with this incredible solution,” says Christine Porras, Oasis Director of Technology Solutions.
