With 200 guests in attendance, the second annual Murder in the Manor at the Mansion on O Street. The May 16th event netted more than $10,000 to help fight hunger in the DC Metro area.
Sponsored by top legal service and technology providers, the Oasis-hosted event supported the Capital Area Food Bank's annual “Food from the Bar” campaign. Capital Area Food Bank is the largest public, non-profit hunger and nutrition education resource in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
The monies raised will enable Capital Area Food Bank to distribute over 22,500 meals, providing nutritious food to those who need it most while also expanding to bundle food with other much needed services.
Thank you to our sponsors--CloudNine, Practice Aligned Resources, Compiled, LightSpeed, Venio Systems, Ankura, The CJK Group, FTI Consulting and H5--and event committee for making the event possible. Thank you also to our volunteers and the Oasis team for all the time and effort that went into making a truly amazing and fun evening for our guests.
For those who were unable to attend but would like to make a direct contribution, donations can be made here.

At Oasis, we realize that our business doesn’t exist in isolation. In fact, we’re part of an international ecosystem made up of hundreds of organizations and thousands of people. Together we’re a loose collection of technologists, lawyers, entrepreneurs, writers, teachers, and other professionals working separately on a common set of problems. Sometimes we compete and sometimes we collaborate, but like it or not, we’re all part of a single community we like to call Legal Technology.
We believe that Oasis has both the opportunity and the responsibility to give back to this amazing community. We aspire to be an agent of change, not just in the lives of our customers and employees, but also to the larger legal tech community as a whole... and beyond, into the “real world,” the local communities that we all work and live in.
One way Oasis gives back is by creating events that harness the enormous power of our industry’s collective people and resources. This is the origin of our “Murder in the Manor” events – a time to come together as a community and make a difference for people beyond the imaginary walls of our industry. We believe that by working together we can define the culture of our community and make a difference in our world.
